The Leven

How To Find Us

DOCKLANDS LIGHT RAILWAY (DLR) links to the tube at "Bank", "Tower Hill" and “Lewisham”. The DLR also links to suburban rail and the Central Line at Stratford. Alight at West India Quay Station and the barge is a short walk along the Quayside (In the rush hours the Bank trains may omit the West India Quay stop, alight at Canary Wharf and take a Bank or Stratford train back one stop to West India Quay –Stations are only 50 yards apart!)

LONDON UNDERGROUND Jubilee Line to Canary Wharf Station, turn right out of the station entrance and follow the signs for ‘Cabot Square, left side of Cabot Square down the steps past Corney & Barrow Wine Bar, you will see the bright Green floating footbridge over to West India Quay, the barge is the second vessel on the left.

BY RIVERBUS Take the Thames Clipper to Canary Wharf Pier, you main join the Clippers at Embankment-opposite the tube station, Waterloo (London Eye), Blackfriars, London Bridge or Tower Pier. As you come off the gangway at Canary Wharf on to the little piazza walk up the steps at the side of Royal China Restaurant to upper Westferry Circus. Then cross at the crossing to the delightful little round park with fantastic bronze gates (the leaves on the gates are copied from all the planting in the park)

Walk left up the street towards the Canary Wharf tower. After 30 yards you will see on your left a large set of bronze highly decorated gates leading on to a downward ramp. Go through the little individual gate cut in the side (push button to have it open), walk down the ramp and we are the fourth barge along on the quayside. This is a detailed instruction and it only takes about 6 minutes I have just made it sound longer!

BY ROAD from the City take the Limehouse Link Tunnel from the Highway E1 and exit Isle of Dogs. Turn, far right lane, into Westferry Circus Underground roundabout and take the first exit marked Hertsmere Road, just past the crossing you will see a turning on your right just opposite ‘Cannon Workshops’ and the barge is moored just along the Quay from the security barrier there. From the east take the exit after McDonalds at the Cotton Street roundabout, marked Aspen Way, keep left following signs for Local Traffic and turn left at the traffic lights marked North Quay and Canary Wharf.. You will pass the Marriott Hotel on your left. Follow the road around to the right until the end of the warehouse and the barge is moored along the quayside from the security barrier opposite Cannon Workshops. Parking is available close by in the secure car park attached to the multiplex cinema in Hertsmere Road; about 3 minutes walk from the barge.
